Boswellia Serrata
90% standardized extract of Boswelline
Pill box of 120 tablets of 250 mg
Botanical name: Boswellia serrata
Part used: The gum
Used for a very long time in the Ayurveda traditional Indian medicine as well as the traditional Chinese medicine as an anti-inflammatory especially in rheumatic problem. This gum has been increasingly studied over the past fifteen years due to its very broad scope of therapeutic action and its excellent tolerance.
Also in preventive use
The boswelline is a gum extract that contains, among other components, different boswellic acids considered as the main active ingredients. These acids have a powerful anti-inflammatory action which strongly inhibit the activity of the enzyme 5-lipoxygenase (1), involved in the generation of leukotrienes (substances which increase the permeability and the contraction of the vessel walls, which stimulate the secretion mucus and the contraction of smooth muscle in the bronchi, those actions being involved in the inflammatory response).
The AKBA (Acetyl-11-keto-b-boswellic acid ), considered the most powerful of the boswellic acids present in the gum would also have the following properties:
- Antioxidative and antiplatelet effects (2).
- Anti-infectious, especially against Staphylococcus aureus (3) and Streptococcus mutans (4): by inhibiting its ability to secrete a biofilm that protects it from the action of antibiotics, the AKBA makes it more vulnerable. A large number of nosocomial infections could thus be avoided.
- Anticancer, particularly in regards to the prostate (7) and colorectal cancers (5,6).
- Anti-oedematous, even in severe cases as a result of irradiation of the brain due to cerebral cancer (8).
- Antirheumatic, particularly in the case of osteoarthritis of the knee (9), it competes for its therapeutic effects with the celecoxib, one of the most sold allopathic anti-inflammatory in the world.
Indications : Many studies have been conducted to test the benefits of boswelline. Not only its effectiveness but also its very good tolerability have been demonstrated in the following affections:
- Chronic Inflammatory Intestines Diseases (10) (ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease (11, 12)) and by extension, leaky intestine syndrome.
- Rheumatoid arthritis (13).
- Osteoarthritis, particularly of the knee (14).
- Asthma (15).
As for the other properties of Boswellia demonstrated in animals, it is still too early to extrapolate for humans.
Recommended dose: From 1 g to 1.5 g per day, or 4-6 tablets per day of Boswellia, 5 minutes before meals:
- 1g Boswellia is equivalent to 2 tablets in the morning and 2 tablets in the evening
- 1.5 g Boswellia is equivalent to 3 tablets in the morning and 3 tablets in the evening
Composition: Standardized extract of Boswellia Serrata standardized to 90% boswellic acid. Each tablet contains 250 mg of boswellic acids. - Other ingredients: corn starch, silica, cellulose, of magnesium stearate.
Precautions: Some cases of spontaneous abortion have been reported in women using Boswellia serrata. Although the link between the cause and effect has not been formally established, it is recommended that pregnant women should not take this type of dietary supplement during the whole time of their pregnancy.
Counter indications: None known despite the plant has been used for thousands of years.
Side effects: Some cases of allergic cutaneous phenomena and mild intestinal disorders have been reported in the literature.

Customer Testimonials
After using a box of Boswellia, I am extremely satisfied with the result. Indeed, after 25 years of treatment with Pentasa for double colitis, a treatment that I started to not tolerate very well anymore, I was worried that I would end up with a cortisone treatment. Fortunately, your product has quickly improved my condition and I am very well while eating normally and all this without intestinal pain. It is a joy for me!

I ordered the boswellia for my mother who has a form of arthritis due to Lyme disease. Her situation is much better now. Thank you very much for your information.

Here are some questions and answers about the Boswellia Serrata product
1) There is corn in the composition of Boswellia, can this be a problem regarding my gluten allergy?
1) There is corn in the composition of Boswellia, can this be a problem regarding my gluten allergy?
Gluten intolerance imposes to avoid wheat and its relatives (spelled, kamut, triticale), barley and rye. Recently, it has also been found that it is also recommended to avoid quinoa. So no problem with corn.
2) I'm looking for ways to ease my suffering wife, for nearly eighteen months of the yellow nail disease ; Colored nails doubled with ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) complications, with purulent sinusitis and respiratory involvement ... (bronchi) with sputum (sometimes spectacular) cough exhausting ... Conventional medicine has little to offer if not a surgery on the sinuses and respiratory massage (recommendation of influenza vaccination and pneumococcal). In short, we do not know where to start, this is a socially disabling condition. Do you think the boswellia serrata could relieve it. I would also be looking for a method of maintaining the lung capacity ....?
The illness of your wife seems to be part of so-called rare diseases. The website Orphaned which is specialized in this area indicates that only a hundred of reported cases and recognizes to ignore the cause of this particular combination of disorders. Anyway, there is a chronic inflammation, including respiratory inflammation. A continuous usage of Boswellia is therefore indicated, at doses typically given. If this proposal seems appropriate to you, we will be happy to read your report after three months of regular use.
3) I have an allergy in the recent weeks. My lips swell, sometimes it is inside the mouth. Also sometimes it is the palm of the hands, it is very variable. I want to know if your products can help me to overcome these swellings ? Thank you in advance for your reply.
In the situation you describe to us, it could be a migrant urticaria which moves around. In this case, the use of Boswellia and Anallergon is quite appropriate. However, to best advise you, we would need to know if your problems are seasonal or chronic. Be aware that for chronic problems, we recommend a six months usage combining Anallergon and Boswellia together. After 6 months, see what happens. Regarding seasonal problems, it would be advisable to do as follows: 3 months of usage with the 2 products together, then continue a base usage of Boswellia alone, but with only 2 tablets a day instead of 4 to 6 tablets.
4) I have an inflammatory tendency at the level the sinus alongs with polyps ... do you have more specific information about this condition?
YES, Boswellia is well indicated in the case you describe us. We recommend a usage of 6 months, with 3 tablets in the morning and 3 tablets in the evening. You can associate either of homeopathy (eg Apis 5CH:. Acts on the oedema, Sucking 3 granules 5-6 times a day, in case improvement, reduce to 1 granule.) Or acupuncture to give even more chance of success. After 6 months, reduce the dose or stop the usage according to the results .
